Our History

Spears Creek Baptist Church was founded in 1782 on the property it is on today. The current sanctuary was built in 1955, with a substantial renovations completed in 1999 and again in 2023. The church has also added over the years an Education Wing, a Fellowship Center, & a Gymnasium.

Spears Creek is currently affiliated the Southern Baptist Convention, South Carolina Baptist Convention, & the Columbia Metro Baptist Association.

Spears Creek is also home to numerous graves, many dating back into the 1800s. If you are looking for a particular grave, the list we have is up to date as of 2018. Please click on the link below.
